(HBO) – On 21st of June, Hoa Binh City People’s Committee held a meeting responding the month of Drug Abuse Prevention and the nationwide day of anti-drug in 2018.


All agencies are signing commitments to comply with regulations in the area of anti-evils and anti-drug crime.

Hoa Binh is a gateway city of the Northwestern region, adjoining the areas that are a key destination about drug and one of the drug transit areas on the Northwestern route. Therefore, the works of drug abuse prevention in Hoa Binh city is increasingly complicated, especially the transport of drug with a large scale. The circumstance of using synthetic drugs among teens, youth and students tends to increase highly. They gather in motels and karaoke bars to use drug with the scale from few to dozens of people.

In recent years, the City Party’s Committee and City People’s Committee has drastically focused on preventing and combating drug evils effectively in the city. Only in the first six months of 2018, the city police investigated and discovered 32 cases with 33 subjects who had the acts of buying, selling and possessing narcotics (an increase by 09 cases comparing with the same period of 2017). Besides, the police seizured 690 grams of heroin and 59.58 grams of synthetic drugs. Moreover, the city police destroyed and eliminated the illegal drug buying, selling and possessing line.

In recent years, the city has promoted the inspection, detection and eradication of drug related sites, especially the sites of trafficking and illegal use in drug. All schools and educational institutions coordinated to organize some programmes to educate about the drug abuse prevention inside school by intergrating them into lessons for students to understand clearly about the hazards and dangers of drugs. At the same time, they mobilized the sources to support the facilities in order to maintian and expand drug abuse prevention activities among youths effectively in the community.

At the meeting responding the nationwide day of anti-drug, the agencies, branches, enterprises and schools in the city signed comitments to comply with regulations in the field of crime prevention and drug abuse prevention strictly.
