(HBO) – The People’s Committee of Ky Son District, Hoa Binh province has recently held a gathering to meet with the district’s former military officers on celebration of the 70th year of the provincial armed force’s traditional day (August 16, 1947).


A district senior official presents certificates of merit to organisations that dedicated to the success of events marking the 70th year of the local armed forces’ traditional day.

 The district’s residents and armed forces have greatly contributed to the provincial armed forces’ building and development. They used their power of solidarity to defeat the colonialism, dedicating to the entire province’s revolutionary victories. People of Ky Son donated thousands of tonnes of food during the anti-American resistance war while thousands of local youths joined the army and fought for the country in different fronts.

 With outstanding contributions and attainments, the district’s armed forces were honoured by the Party and State with the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces in the anti-French war. Besides, five local communes were conferred with the tittle of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces.

 It has made good progress in recent years by providing advices to the local government and Party’s Committee for the implementation of local defence – military tasks, building up and recruiting for the army, and delivering military logistics services.

 The Ky Son People’s Committee took the occasion to present certificates of merit to seven organisations that dedicated to the success of activities marking the 70th year of the district’s armed forces’ traditional day and four units with excellent performances at the local military manoeuvres this year.
