Vietnamese airlines have announced that they will reschedule their flights to and from airports in the areas affected by Storm Son Tinh on July 18, as it is forecast to hit the central provinces of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa later in the day.

Many domestic flights
are either cancelled or rescheduled due to Storm Son Tinh.
Specifically, Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier, plans
to push up the departure times of their flights between Ho Chi Minh City/Hanoi
to Vinh by three to five hours earlier.
Passengers are advised to stay abreast
of the latest weather conditions and announcements of Vietnam Airlines in order
to adjust their travel plans accordingly.
Details can be found on the carrier’s
Facebook page, from its booking offices and through its customer service call
centre.
In the meantime, Vietjet Air has
cancelled its flights between Vinh and Ho Chi Minh City and adjusted the
departure times on several other routes. Notifications have been sent to its
passengers through multiple channels, the budget carrier said.
Another low-cost carrier, Jetstar
Pacific, announced that it has cancelled four flights to and from Vinh and Tho
Xuan Airports, and will add more flights on July 19 in order to deal with the
backlog.
Storm Son Tinh is moving west towards Vietnam’s
mainland at a speed of 25-30 kilometres per hour and will directly affect the
coastal areas from Thai Binh province to Quang Binh province overnight on July
18.
