(HBO) – A delegation of Hoa Binh led by Nguyen Van Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the province and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Xa Thi Van in Mo La village, Tu Ly commune of Da Bac district, on the occasion of the 71st Day of Invalids and Martyrs (July 27).

Heroic Mother Xa Thi Van, born in 1921, has two sons Xa Quy Hoang
and Xa Quy Tieu who laid down their lives during the resistance war against the
US.
With policies of the Party and the State over the past years, Party
units, local authorities and agencies have paid much attention to the caring of Van in both material and spiritual life.
During the visit, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang expressed his
gratitude to Van for giving births and bringing up her two children who fought
for the nation’s independence and freedom.
The Party and the State have held various activities to honour those
who made contributions to the country this month, he added.
The provincial leader wished the mother good health and instructed
local authorities to take care of Van, helping her complete the new house. The
district also needs to pay attention to families of people who rendered service
to the nation, ensuring stable living conditions for them.
On the occasion, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee
presented gifts from President Tran Dai Quang, the Party Committee, the
People’s Council, the People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front
chapter of Hoa Binh province to heroic mother Xa Thi Van. She also received
gifts from the Hoa Binh Military High Command and the provincial Women’s
Union./.
