(HBO) – President of the Women’s Union of Lac Son district Bui Thi Ngoi, who has spent 22 years with the union and made great contributions to the local women’s movements, is one of the nucleus factors in promoting the campaign of building new-style rural areas in the locality. Recently, she was honoured by the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee for her contributions in the development of the campaign.

Clearly aware of the role of the campaign
of building "five no – three clean” family model - families without poverty,
law violation, social evils, domestic violence, a third child, and malnourished
and un-schooled children, and having good sanitation - in fulfilling nine out
of the 19 criteria of the programme of building new-style rural areas, over the
past years, Ngoi and other leaders of the district’s Women’s Union have
launched practical activities drawing the engagement of local women, creating
motivation for them to involve in and promote the capacity of the union,
becoming effective movements.
Alongside, the local Women’s Union called
for members to donate 5,000 VND each, collecting over 100 million VND. The
money was used to build 1.5km road, sanitation toilets, models of food safety,
and models of green and flowery in Che and Tran villages, An Nghia commune.
As a result, flowers have been planted along
17km of roads, besides 1,870 trees. As many as 15,648 families fulfilling all
criteria of the "five no – three clean” family.
Meanwhile, 36 self-managing teams have
been set up to supervise the environment and food safety, and 350 fund raising
teams formed to collect money for the building of over 5,500 sanitary toilets
and digging of 5,390 rubbish holes for classification of waste in households.
Ngoi advised the district Women’s Union to
associate the support of women in economic development into major programmes of
the district. She suggested the active coordination between the union and local
departments and agencies to draw projects and hold training courses, animal breeding
and cultivation technology transfer activities and vocational training for
members.
On the other hand, Ngoi took steps to
diversify communications methods by sharing experience through conferences to honour
women who show excellent performance in economic development, encouraging
members to apply science and technology, expanding production, business, trade,
restoring traditional trade, and forming production and business clusters.
The Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province held a conference on March 18 to review the performance of the "Safe and Happy School" Project and set out tasks for 2025. The project, funded by the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF), aims to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students. The event saw the attendance of representatives from the TFCF and 26 beneficiary schools.
