(HBO) – The military armed forces from Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province, recently held a ceremony to present gifts "Accompanying children to school” to needy students for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Implementing the Politburo’s instruction promoting the studying and following the moral example of late President Ho Chi Minh and the campaign promoting the revolutionary tradition and contributing talent to the country’s development as well as responding to the programme "Accompanying children to school” launched by the Military High Command in 2015, the military armed forces in Lac Son district have encouraged people to make donations and present gift packages for disadvantaged students. As a result, six students were sponsored, while 73 bicycles and hundreds of calculators and bags worth nearly 170 million VND (7,286 USD) were presented to poor students.

At the granting ceremony, the military armed forces in Lac Son presented 34 bicycles, 19 calculators, two desks, and four bags with total value of 70.3 million VND to students who overcame difficulties to achieve high academic results.

This charitable activity aims to encourage students from difficult backgrounds to study well. The district’s military armed forces will continue expanding the campaign "Accompanying children to school” among officers and soldiers as well as individuals and organisations./.
