(HBO) – The Hoa Binh Newspaper in collaboration with the provincial Association for Study Encouragement and the local branch of the Vietnam Prosperity joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) organised a visit to present 40 scholarships to needy students with outstanding achievements in Thuong Tien and Nat Son communes in Kim Boi district. Each scholarship was worth 500,000 VND.

Thuong Tien is an extremely disadvantaged area in Kim Boi district, and the residents, including students, have been facing lots of difficulties in their life. With funding sourced from public agencies and sponsors, in the first seven months of 2018, the Hoa Binh Newspaper had organised two visits to the locality, presenting relief worth over 120 million VND in total.

As the 2018 – 2019 school year was about to begin, the newspaper worked with the provincial Association for Study Encouragement and VPBank’s local branch to visit and hand over 20 scholarships to poor students in Thuong Tien, who had made great efforts in overcoming their difficulties.

Also on the occasion, the Dong Duong one-member limited liability company presented 10 scholarships to students in Thuong Tien.

The Hoa Binh Newspaper’s delegation visited Nat Son commune and gave away another 20 scholarships to local needy students. This school year, the Nat Son secondary and high school runs 15 classes with a total 341 students. In the past 2017 - 2018 school year, the facility had five students recognised for their overall outstanding academic achievements and 10 others considered to be excellent in line with district-level standards.
