(HBO) - Police of Mai Chau district recently visited and encouraged families suffering heavy losses due to rain and storms in Van Mai commune.

Only in 4 days from 27 to 31 August, 2018, in
Mai Chau district, there was heavy rain caused by the impact of low pressure
climate, which has severely damaged, such as one person died, one was injured;
293 houses were flooded; 104 houses were slid by landslide; the area of rice
flooded and covered was 141 hectares; bamboos fell and were being washed away 5
hectares; 171 poultry died; 7.5 hectares of lakes and ponds were washed away;
swept away 2,300 metres of canals; damaged 3 solid routes; damaged 230 meters
of water pipes; swept away a Xi Lan bridge connection and a bridge of 12 meters
long, etc.; all were estimated at a loss of 95 billion VND.

Police visited and gifted 10 households in Thanh Mai hamlet, Van Mai commune,
Mai Chau district, each household was given a gift of 350,000 VND. This is the
amount of money voluntarily donated by the staff and soldiers and extracted
from the fund " Teammates spirit" of the unit. These presents
expressed the soul, attention and sharing of military police officers in Mai
Chau district, in order to motivate people to overcome the ahead difficulties,
to stabilize their lives. This also reflects the expression of "emotional
mutual love and support" of youth union members of the district police.
