(HBO) - In order to proactively fight with gambling evils, Yen Thuy district police instructed the professional teams to closely monitor the area, actively coordinate with police of communes and towns to grasp the situation, promote strongly the propaganda among the local people about the consequences, the bad effects of gambling and lottery.

Yen Thuy district police are discussing the
plan of preventing and fighting gambling and lottery crimes to keep the order
security in the area.
This aims to raise their awareness of
actively fighting, denouncing criminals and mobilizing people not to
participate in gambling and keeping order security in the local area. At the
same time, in coordination with the members of the sub-committees of propaganda
and advocacy, the Steering Committee 09 of the district propagandized on the
above content in various forms such as law dissemination conference, legal
assistance, theatrical performance, etc. Through this, the member organizations
have organized nearly 100 conferences integrated with law propagation and
dissemination, 14 communication sessions on crime and social evils, including
gambling and lottery criminals; organizing for nearly 10,000 women's members to
sign commitments on the management and education of children in the family
without criminal charges and social evils. In addition, they strengthen the
administrative inspection in the complex areas of rimes and social evils to promptly
detect and handle according to regulations of illegal gambling activities.
Thanks to the implementation of many
synchronous and effective solutions, the fight against gambling crimes in the
area has made positive results. The functional forces have strengthened
coordination in the implementation process in order to promptly detect, prevent
and fight effectively and destroy many gambling locations. Only in the first
nine months of the year, Yen Thuy district police discovered, caught 27 cases,
87 objects who had gambling activities, seized over 62 million VND. In
comparison with the same period, there increased 14 cases, 32 subjects, in
which 5 cases have been prosecuted, 39 defendants, 22 cases, 48 subjects were
administratively punished. This number shows the efforts of the district police
in the fight against gambling and lottery crimes.
In late March, 29 labourers from Da Bac district were sent to work as seasonal farm workers in Buyeo county, Chungcheongnam province, the Republic of Korea (RoK). Upon arrival, they quickly settled into their jobs, enjoying good working conditions and benefits, with wages aligned with the terms of their signed contracts. The programme is now being expanded, with relevant departments and sectors actively seeking additional seasonal employment opportunities in various localities across the RoK.
