Cham Mat ward houses six ethnic groups and 27 residential units, with close to 1,900 households of more than 11,000 people. The local fatherland front has 10 member organisations operating in all residential areas and 27 working boards with nearly 250 members.

Over the years, the great national unity has been consolidated, expanded and promoted. Cham Mat ethnic groups have worked to build solidarity in their communities. They believe in the leadership of the Party and authorities, and actively participate in local socio-economic development. The living standard of local residents has been improved. In 2017, average income per capita reached 52 million VND per person per year and the rate of poor households was reduced to 1 percent.

The locals have also welcomed money-raising activities to grow different charity funds, which aim to support the poor, revolutionary contributors, encourage learning, and taking care of the elderly, among others. Self-management models have proved to be effective, while emulation movements have attracted significant number of participants.

The congress agreed to set out seven targets and four action programmes for the new term. Participating delegates elected 47 members of the 8th Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s Cham Mat ward and selected 10 delegates to attend a higher level congress.
