(HBO) – A self-governing group to ensure social order in Na Cut hamlet was established in Na Cut hamlet by Na Phon communal People’s Committee in 2017.

The management board of the group has joined hands with the head of the commune, police officers, and head of the local reconciliation group to conciliate two disputes and ensure local social order, without any case of law violations.

In a bid to ensure stable live for local households, the group has worked to mobilise local residents to support each other in production and poverty alleviation. It has assigned one Party member and two families who have excellent production models to help poor families with husbandry techniques. Thanks to the effort, the number of impoverished households fell from three in 2015 to one in 2018 while near-poor households reduced to two from five recorded three years ago.

The group has assisted with the building of two houses through contributing 120 working days and materials for the needy, and organized visits of 14 sick members. The women’s union of the group contributed 38 working days to plant rice for two households with sick members, along with 27 working days to help a local war invalid.  

Regarding the building of new style rural area, the group has encouraged households to participate in the construction of local infrastructure facilities. The households leveled 100m of the communal road and donated 260 working days to build the Na Kem canal. The group also persuaded local residents to build hygienic breeding farms and latrines.

Thanks to the group, patriotic emulation movements have received warm response from local residents, with 16 out of the total 19 households participating in 2016, or 84.2 percent of the total families, 20 out of 20 households participating in 2017, and 19 out of 20 participating in 2018.

The group has been awarded the title of "Good self-governing group” for several consecutive years since 2016./.
