(HBO) - Over the past years, the movement "Farmers together to build new rural areas" has been actively implemented by members of Mai Chau Farmer Association, which makes to change the face of rural areas remarkably, the local people are improving their material and spiritual life.

. According to Comrade Mr. Sung A Chenh, the
Chairman of District Farmers Association, the movement has a strong spillover
by timely propaganda and mobilization at the Farmer Union levels. The
Association has extensive propaganda to cadres, members about the guidelines
and policies of the Party and State in the construction of rural areas. At the
same time, the Associations propagate and mobilize farmers to apply scientific
and technological advances into production, to change the structure of plants
and animals, to cooperate and connect in production. The Association
coordinates with social organizations to propagandize, mobilize farmers to donate
land, contribute money, labor days for roads, irrigation, intra-field roads,
and neighboring villages. With the basis of hamlets and villages, the
households are the nucleus for propaganda and mobilization for new rural area
development.
With the collaboration to build new rural
area with the specific and realistic actions, in the period of 2013 - 2018, the
officials and members of Mai Chau District Farmers Association have contributed
nearly 63,000 working days for rural concrete road construction, hardening 567
km; repairing, leveling potholes, dredging two sides of the road in 872 km,
digging and embanking 150,585 m2 of canals, clearing 1,350 km of flow. To
implement the criteria No 17 on environment, the Association promotes
propaganda, advocacy and education activities to raise awareness about policies
and laws related to natural resources and environment and respond to climate
change. According to a joint resolution between the Farmers' Association and
the Office of Natural Resources and Environment, 13 dissemination conferences
were organized for 1,215 members of the farmers in environmental protection,
building the typical models of garbage treatment, prevention of environmental
pollution in rural areas.
With many efforts, the awareness of staff and
members of the Association has been improved, making a change in the
environment friendly behavior. Up to now, 90% of the households in the district
have safe water, 75% have hygienic latrines, 95% of the households have moved
the animal cages far away from home, 265 household members have built biogas to
handle with the waste in livestock raising and environmental protection in
rural areas.
The emulation movement "Hoa Binh joining hands to build new-style rural areas” has been widely spreading, becoming a driving force that motivates the localities to renew rural landscapes and improve the material and spiritual lives of the residents. In this movement, the people play a central role-both as the main implementers and direct beneficiaries of its outcomes.
