(HBO) – The Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) in Hoa Binh province (Agribank Hoa Binh) has launched a mobile banking office using a specialized van in Dong Tam commune, Lac Thuy district.

Leaders of Agribank Hoa Binh present the decision to set up the mobile banking office using a specialized van at its branch in Lac Thuy district.

Agribank Lac Thuy was the first among Agribank branches in Hoa Binh to pilot the mobile banking office. The mobile banking vehicle in Lac Thuy was among 38 others deployed by Agribank throughout the country in two phase. In the first phase, 30 of its branches were provided with the banking vans.

Staff of Agribank Lac Thuy are working inside the mobile banking vehicle.

The mobile banking van will be operational once or twice per month, depending on local situation. It offers various banking services, such as deposit, money withdrawal, savings, credit provision, debt collection, money transfer and account opening, so people would not have to travel long distances to visit a real banking office.

This model marks Agribank’s new big step to deliver modern banking services to customers in rural and remote areas that can help them save time and travel costs.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Director of Agribank Hoa Binh Pham Kien Cuong said the van-based mobile banking office is one of advanced solutions that are beneficial to both Agribank and its customers. It reduces geographic distance between the bank and people from 11 remote communes of Lac Thuy district, he noted.

Cuong further said that the mobile office provides the locals with easier access to loans and other banking services, which are expected to boost the socio-economic development in the district in the coming years./.
