On behalf of the Vietnamese State, Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh handed over the Order to the university, saying that this is to recognise its great contributions to the development of the Vietnam-Russia friendship as well as human resources training for the Southeast Asian nation over the past more than six decades.

He told the MGU rector and lecturers that MGU alumni, after returning to Vietnam, have made important contribution to the national development, adding that he is also an MGU alumnus.

Rector Victor Sadovnichy said he was touched for Vietnam’s recognition, and vowed to try his best to improve cooperation with Vietnam’s educational establishments.

MGU, one of the oldest Russian institutions of higher education, has been listed in the world’s Top 100 universities for years.
