The Vietnam Consulate General in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand held a ceremony on August 30 to mark the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

General said over the last 72 years Vietnam, under the leadership of the
Communist Party of Vietnam and the late President Ho Chi Minh, has overcome
numerous difficulties to obtain great achievements in its national defence and
construction process.
Mr Son briefed the participants, especially overseas Vietnamese, on the current
situation at home, particularly in the fields of economy and diplomacy.
The traditional friendship and cooperation relations between Vietnam and
Thailand have constantly developed and flourished in recent years. The two
sides have conducted regular exchange visits at all levels to lift their
strategic partnership to a new height, said Mr Son.

Mr Son appreciated active
contributions of the overseas Vietnamese community to the development of
Thailand’s economy and to preserving and promoting Vietnamese culture and
learning and teaching of the Vietnamese language.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Khon Kaen, Mr. Phongsak Preechawit, sent best
regards to Vietnam on the occasion of its National Day and said OVs in Thailand
serve as a bridge to strengthen ties between the two countries.
