(HBO) – The "self-managed family” model has helped Hoa Binh province ensure security and social order at grassroots level.

According to Xa Van Hung, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Muong Chieng commune (Da Bac district), the "Xa sinh” family had more than 600 households with some 3,000 people.

Da Bac district police hold regular meetings with police in Muong Chieng commune.

Muong Chieng authorities had done well in engaging prestigious people in the community in persuading local families to educate their children, preventing them from breaking legal regulations.

As communal police force has joined hands with families to manage local law breakers, the numbers of thefts and public disturbances drop significantly. Meanwhile, more people wear helmet when riding motorbikes on roads, helping reduce traffic accidents.

Last year, communal police handled only eight administrative violations, and there was no serious violation of the law. No cases were reported since the beginning of this year. Besides, wedding ceremonies and funeral services were held in line with local rules and civilized lifestyle.

Many families voluntarily contributed their land for road and public facility construction. Family of Xa Van Tien in U Quan hamlet and family of Xa Van Bang in Chieng Cang hamlet are typical examples.
