HBO - There have been 7,318 members, taking part in 143 associations in Lac Thuy Elderly Association. Through the review of emulation in 2018, fifteen out of the fifteen of the Elderly Association in the district’s communes and town achieved strong and very good Association foundation, 143 associations in the hamlets, the villages, and the residential areas were good and there weren’t any weak associations.
These results are a source of encouragement for the Elderly Association officials and members to continue striving to improve the quality and the effectiveness of care, promoting the role of the elderly and the movement "The older – the brighter example".
The members of the Elderly Association in Thanh Nong commune (Lac Thuy) make use of the water surface to develop poultry breeding, increasing the income and stabilizing the life.
In the first quarter, the Representative Board of the District’s Elderly Association supported 60 million VND for three poor families from the Elderly Association to remove their temporary houses. At the summarizing conference in 2018, deploying the tasks in 2019, launching the movement and signing the emulation contract in 2019 for the Elderly Association, the communes and the town awarded 7 gifts worth 2.1 million VND of the Provincial Elderly Association to the elderly members with difficult circumstances.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year - 2019, the Year of Pig, the district gave 60 gifts worth 18 million VND to 60 elderly people with difficult circumstances from the Fund of Caring and Promoting the Role of the Elderly. In the communes and the town, the different levels of the Party committees, the local government, the Fatherland Front and other appropriate authorities and mass organizations of the Centre, the province, the district, the social and political organizations, the benefactors and the enterprises have donated 1,849 gifts worth VND 629,941 million to poor and disadvantaged elderly people.
Also in the first quarter, the district’s representative board, the leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Center for Culture, Sports and Information, the leaders of the Party Committee, the People's Committee and the Elderly Association in the communes and town visited and attended the longevity wishing ceremony of 152 elderly people in the district with the amount of 487,078 million VND. From these activities, the officials and elderly members in the district were happy and excited, expressing their confidence in the leadership of the Party and the State and appreciating the role of the Elderly Association. Accordingly, in the first 3 months of the year, the whole district admitted another 40 new members.
From the movement of "The older – the brighter example" on the occasion of holidays and Tet, the officials and the members in the district set a good example with practical actions such as not drinking alcohol, not burning cannons, participating in lighting roads, cleaning the village roads, alleys, strictly abiding the rules, the regulations and the conventions of the residential areas.
The "Volunteer Youth" movement is the pride of Vietnamese youth. Along with the spread of the movement in Hoa Binh province, the volunteer youth movement in Lac Son district has many imprints, creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere for the youth, contributing to building a rich and civilised homeland.
Kim Boi district, a revolutionary land rich in cultural heritage, is "awakening” with major opportunities to become a tourism and eco-urban hub in Hoa Binh province and the region as a whole.
Thanks to the support of local authorities, Hoa Binh’s education system continues to achieve significant progress, contributing to meeting comprehensive reform targets and students' learning needs as well as supplying high-quality human resources for the province.
