(HBO) - Hoa Binh Veteran Association has launched a pilot model "Veterans joining hands to solve the problem of plastic waste” in Huu Nghi Ward, Hoa Binh City, attracting the attraction of a large number of members and people.

The Official Letter No. 678/CV-Th.U dated on July 31, 2019 of Hoa Binh Party Committee on responding to the Prime Minister's call for the whole country to join hands in solving the plastic waste problem has been implemented. Accordingly, the activities implemented include the propaganda to raise the awareness about combating plastic waste and protecting the environment, encouraging the replacement of plastic products to each household, residential area, market, supermarket and trade center, promoting the role of the veteran in the propaganda about the environmental protection.

The Veteran Association of the city has donated 500 bags of environmentally friendly materials to the members of the Veteran Association and the residents of Huu Nghi ward.

The purpose and significance of the model is to educate and raise the awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, organizations and individuals in the area about the harms and risks of causing the environmental pollution from plastic waste and bags. As a result, it is necessary to change the awareness, limit and eliminate the use of disposable plastic, the difficult-to-break plastic bags, replace them with the environmentally friendly materials. At the same time, it is important to replicate the advanced examples, the new initiatives and good practices in implementing the fight against plastic waste in the area.

At the launching ceremony, the Veteran Association of the City has given 500 bags made from the environmentally friendly materials to the members of the Veteran Association and the people of Huu Nghi ward.
