(HBO) - In 2015, the project "The Equipment bringing water up using the water power” of Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted passed 205 projects of other provinces, helping Hoa Binh to win the first prize in the competition of National Science and Technology for the first time.

Mr. Pham Dinh Man (on the right) is instructing the students.

Most recently, in July 2019, it was the first time that Hoa Binh had a project to participate in the World Invention Creativity Olympic in Korea and was honored to win a gold medal. Silently standing behind the bright smile of the students on the podium to receive the award, it is Mr. Pham Dinh Man (the teacher of Hoang Van Thu high school for the gifted) - who has directly guided the project for them.

The difference of teacher Pham Dinh Man is that he is not only good at his major, he also has a great passion for scientific and technological research and creation. In 2014, when Hoa Binh first joined the national playground for science and technology creativity, Mr. Man and his students "presented” the second prize in the field and the third prize with the project "Filtering seawater into sweet water from excess energy of the heat engine” and the encouragement prize with the project "Generators from the ocean wave”.

From 2015 to present, Mr. Man has continued to guide 3 winning projects at the National Science and Technology Contest. The most recent peak is that he has directly instructed the students of Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted and Cong Nghiep High School to win a gold medal at the World Invention Creativity Olympic held in Korea in July, 2019.

Talking about the journey to continue the study of creativity in science and technology for students, Mr. Pham Dinh Man says: One of the urgent requirements on the education innovation today is to promote "Practice makes perfect”, concretizing the theoretical knowledge into practice. The students are also increasingly confident, interested and they are actively exploring, doing researches and creating science and technology.

After many years of guiding students in implementation of the projects, I have found that researching and creating science and technology help students to be inspired, promote their intelligence, creativity, and practice their computer and foreign languages skills. Thereby, it makes them more confident in communication and more active in life. In the future, I will continue to guide them so that they will have more research and practical applications. At the same time, I will actively be supporting the young colleagues to participate in scientific and technological creativity research to promote the movement of scientific and technological creation among the teachers and students of the province.
