(HBO) - Since the beginning of the year, the Red Cross of Mai Chau district has cooperated with charitable individuals and organizations to carry out the social security through the activities such as providing money and essential necessities for people with disadvantages and especially difficult circumstances, poor children, lonely and helpless elderly people.
The family of Mr. Bui Van Au (standing in front, the third
from the right), from Cun hamlet, Cun Pheo commune (Mai Chau) is getting
breeding cow to support the economic development from the program of "The Cow
Bank”.
Implementing the movement "Tet for the poor and victims of
Agent Orange” in 2019, the Red Cross has supported 3,957 subjects with a total
value of money, gifts worth 1,174 million VND. During the year, the Red Cross
mobilized the philanthropists to support the construction of houses for 2 poor households
in Pieng Phung hamlet, Na Phon commune with a total value of 140 million VND.
They visited 15 people with serious diseases, with the total value of gifts
worth 15 million VND.
The different levels of the Red Cross have actively
propagated and mobilized the organizations and the individuals to support
students in difficult circumstances, contributing to the implementation of
promoting education in the locality. Implementing the program "Warm Clothes for
Winter”, the Red Cross has cooperated with the club maned the Heart for
Children to give coats and school supplies to 600 pupils of Hang Kia B High and
Secondary School in Hang Kia Commune with a total value of 102 million VND.
From the support of the Vingroup Fund for Kind Heart, the Red Cross has awarded
scholarships to 13 poor and disadvantaged students with a total value of 32.5
million VND and has monthly supported the study costs for 8 poor students with
an amount of 500,000 VND each student. It has also collaborated with the
Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to prepare a document to
help 10 students contaminated with Agent Orange, supporting gifts and
scholarships for them.
Notably, "The Cow Bank” program was effectively implemented.
84 breeding cows worth 924 million VND have been directly delivered to the poor
households, helping them to have more means to earn a living.
In response to the "Humanitarian Month” in 2019, the Red
Cross has distributed free medicine to 770 turns of people with a total value
of 71 million VND. 8 wheelchairs with a total value of 18 million VND have been
awarded to the disabled, the people under the preferential policies and people
with extremely difficult circumstances in remote areas.
The humanitarian activities have synchronously implemented,
creating the widespread effects, giving the sharing of organizations and
individuals with kindness to the poor, disabled and disadvantaged people,
helping them to be more confident in life and improving the quality of social
security.
The Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province held a conference on March 18 to review the performance of the "Safe and Happy School" Project and set out tasks for 2025.
