HBO) – Hoa Binh city witnessed an important development milestone right at the beginning of 2020 when the Party Organisation of Hoa Binh province decided to set up the city’s Party Organisation in accordance with Resolution 830, dated December 17, 2019, of the National Assembly Standing Committee. The first session of the city’s People’s Council elected key officials so as to swiftly embark on their political tasks to help Hoa Binh city deserve the trust of the local Party committee, administration and people.
Work
on Chi Lang Road linking with National Highway 6 has begun, expected to expand
the space for Hoa Binh city’s development.
2020 is the first year since the merger of the
former Hoa Binh city and Ky Son district, which is believed to match the
development trend and requirements. The former Hoa Binh city and Ky Son
district boast an over-120-year history with glorious revolutionary traditions.
Both were among the province’s top localities in terms of investment
attraction, infrastructure development, economic restructuring, per capita
income and poverty alleviation. They also had good transport infrastructure,
enabling them to be well-connected with other localities via waterways and
road.
In 2018, Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh Road was officially
put into use, reducing the travel time from Hoa Binh city’s centre to Hanoi to
only one hour. This has helped enhance the investment attractiveness of the
province, in which Hoa Binh city and Ky Son district benefited most. The number
of investors exploring investment chances here rose strongly. Statistics show
that in 2019, more than 130 investment projects worth 60 trillion VND (2.5
billion USD) were registered in the former Ky Son district. Among them, many
tourism, service and residential development projects are underway, promising
strong changes in the local economic structure.
Over the past years, Hoa Binh city has also
effectively mobilised resources to make breakthroughs in infrastructure and
socio-economic development. A number of works worth trillions of VND in total
and critical to urban, service and industrial development have been under
construction. They are hoped to give a facelift to Hoa Binh city and help it
become a second-tier city in the near future.
According to the construction planning, there
will be four bridges spanning the Da River. Three of them have been put into
use, helping to boost balanced development on both banks of the river. Besides,
other transport infrastructure facilities have also been built and upgraded
such as Road 435 and Chi Lang Road that connects with National Highway 6.
Land in Hoa Binh city has been used effectively.
The trading centre on the left bank of the Da River has been filled with
projects for residential and commercial purposes. More restaurants, hotels and
office buildings have also been built. Local living standards have been
improved. As a result, the city now has great development chances.
The merger of Ky Son district and Hoa Binh city
is an important political task, requiring unanimity in terms of both thought
and actions.
Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Quach
Tung Duong affirmed that the Party Organisation of Hoa Binh city will uphold
traditions, promote democracy, enhance unity and assign concrete tasks to
all-level authorities and sectors so as to grasp new development opportunities
and capitalise on every resource to fulfill the criteria of a second-tier city
to seek the recognition for Hoa Binh city and help it deserve its status as the
political, economic, cultural and social centre of the province./.
