Owning a house located on
National Highway 12B next to Ranh market,
Nhu opened a tailoring shop and brought her products to the market for sale.
With the help of her husband, Nhu frequently came to the Ranh market of Dong
Bac commune, Bai Chao market of Tu Son commune and Tram market of Son Thuy
commune (Kim Boi district) to sell clothes designed and produced by her own. In
2010 - 2011, as the shop was busy, the couple had to hire two extra workers. At
this time, Nhu had chances to visit a number of garment factories in
Hanoi and Ha
Nam province. An idea flashed in her
head: Why do not we try to approach new ways of doing business by doing outwork
for companies and production establishments?
Realising the idea, in parallel with tailoring,
the couple agreed to produce supermarket bags for a workshop in Bo town, Kim
Boi district. After getting acquainted with the new job, they gradually expanded
production in 2013 by buying 35 old sewing machines worth over 200 million VND from
the factory in Bo town. In November 2013, the couple established a company
named Hung Nhi Kim Boi One-Member Co., Ltd. At the same time, they focused on
producing bags to directly supply to Casablanca Vietnam joint Stock Company.
At present, the Hung Nhi Kim Boi One-Member Co.,
Ltd. has 10 garment workshops located in Bo town and Thuong Bi, Ha Bi, Thuong
Tien, Hop Dong, Dong Bac and Binh Son communes of Kim Boi district and Phu Lao commune
of Lac Thuy district. With nearly 200 sewing machines, the company has created
jobs for over 100 employees. A majority of them are part-time labourers because
they are rural women and take the jobs to increase their incomes.
To create and maintain the workforce, Nhu has
regularly coordinated with Kim Boi district’s Vocational Education and Training
Centre, as well as training programmes and projects of the Farmers' Association
and the Women's
Union to create labour supply
sources. After supporting trainees in vocational training, the company has
enabled them to work at its production workshops. This is what Hung Nhi Kim Boi
has done over the past two years.
In
2014, the company was awarded a certificate of merit by the Director of the provincial
Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs for its achievements in
vocational training for rural workers in accordance with Decision No. 1956 /
QD-TTg of the Prime Minister for the 2010-2014 period.
In
June 2016, Nhu was chosen as one of 12 excellent individuals of the province to
attend a conference to commend and award outstanding ethnic minority women in
the north-western region held by the Steering Committee for North-western
Region and the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee in Nghe An province. At
this conference, the Hung Nhi Kim Boi One-Member Co., Ltd. was awarded a
certificate of merit of the Steering Committee for North-western Region for
excellent achievements in socio-economic development in the region.
