The Singapore Embassy in Hanoi organised a ceremony on October 18 to present an ASEAN Scholarship to 12 Vietnamese high school students aged between 14 and 16.

ASEAN scholarship granted to 12 Vietnamese students

The students – five from the north and seven from the southern regions – will be given the opportunity to study in Singapore for four years, leading them to receiving the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced’ (GCE A-Level) certificate.

Following the ceremony, the students will go to Singapore on October 27.

Speaking at the ceremony, Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Catherine Wong Siow Ping congratulated the Vietnamese students on receiving their scholarships.

She encouraged the recipients to take their time in Singapore to learn more about the country and to make friends in order to further the relationships between peoples in the two countries.

On the occasion, she also congratulated ten other Vietnamese students, who received A-STAR scholarship for Vietnamese undergraduates to study in Singapore

The ASEAN Scholarships were presented by the Singaporean Ministry of Education to offer young people in Southeast Asian countries an opportunity to develop their skills and equip themselves with important skills for the future.
