(HBO) - On the occasion of the 90th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), the great national unity festival was held in residential areas across Hoa Binh province.

Residential areas in the province, from Hoa Binh city to remote areas, are full of the sound of singing, drums and gongs. Especially, leaders of ministries, sectors, Hoa Binh province and local agencies attended the event and shared the joy with local people.

Residents in Ngu hamlet, Hien Luong commune of Da Bac district are performing an unique repertoire imbrued with the national identity at the great national unity festival in 2020.

The Thai, Tay, Kinh, Dao, and Mong people across the province also happily welcomed the great national unity festival. Locals in Ngu hamlet in Da Bac district’s Hien Luong commune well prepared for the meaningful event.

Head of the hamlet’s board for the front work Ly Van Hung said this year, the hamlet was honoured to welcome Minister -Chairmanof Government’s CommitteeforEthnicMinority AffairsDo Van Chien, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khanh, among guests, to the festival.

According to Hung, the hamlet is home to 87 households with 410 people. Despite being a mountainous hamlet, the four ethnic groups of Dao, Muong, Tay, and Kinh have always united together and strived to implement the new-style rural area and cultural residential area building programme. Local residents have donated 2,300 sq.m of land for constructing rural roads and social welfare projects, contributed to the work of concreting inter-hamlet roads, and implemented a self-managing model for 2,000m of road in the locality.

Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh city Nguyen Thi Thanh Hai said the festival was held at all residential areas with the festive atmosphere. The festival was a highlight in building the great national unity bloc, helping to connect the community and arousing the internal strength right from each citizen, family, and the community.

The festival contributed to recalling the glorious history and tradition of the VFF, and reviewing the residential construction work in 2020 and the implementation of patriotic emulation movements, especially the movement"all people unitetobuild new-styleruralareas,civilized urbanareas" launched by the VFF.

On the occasion, organizations and individuals who made outstanding achievements in building villages and hamlets were honoured. Orientations to build prosperous and happy residential communities in 2021 were also set out. The festival also witnessed the signing of emulation covenants, which demonstrated the determination to build prosperous and happy residential communities.

The festive activities included art performance prgrammes and sport activities imbued with cultural identity of the ethnic groups in the locality. The festival helps promote autonomy and create a vibrant emulation atmosphere and consensus among communities, towards promoting socio-economic development in the locality./.
