(HBO) – The provincial committee for ethnic minority affairs on January 12, in coordination with the People’s Committee of Mai Chau district, conveyed greetings and presented gifts to administrations and ethnic minority people in the district on the occasion of the traditional New Year Festival of Mong ethnic minority and the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.

The committee’s delegation visited the
communes of Dong Tan, Hang Kia and Pa Co of Mai Chau district, where they
delivered 45 gift packages to impoverished ethnic minority households and outstanding
individuals. All recipients also received 500,000 VND in crash.
Head of the provincial committee for
ethnic minority affairs Dinh Thi Thao urged the communes’ party committees and
administrations to continue well implementing policies for local ethnic
minority groups. The poor households must also work harder to overcome
hardships and lift themselves out of poverty, she added./.
