(HBO) - Residential areas across Hoa Binh province annually hold the great national unity festival from November 1 to 18 to celebrate the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)'s traditional day. This year, the event took place with the same cheerful and eager atmosphere as usual in line with COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

People in Mo hamlet, Chieng Chau commune, Mai Chau district, stage a musical performance at the local great national unity festival.

As a green zone, the residential area with 155 households in Gieng hamlet in Hoa Binh city’s Hop Thanh commune held a safe and happy festival, featuring impressive musical performances.

The Thai ethnic community in Mo hamlet also participated in the festival with joy while fully following COVID-19 safety requirements.

Bui Thi Thom from Dong Khi ham let in Tan Lac district’s Man Duc town said attending the festival, she is more determined to building her residential area toward prosperity, civilization, and safety amid the pandemic.

This year, in the context of the COVID-19, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee guided the organisation of the festival in accordance with the situation in each locality.

Vice Chairman of the committee Tran Duc Truong said the festival was held to further affirm the self-governing role of the community in implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. It also encouraged locals to overcome difficulties and challenges, and promoted the synergy of solidarity and consensus in pandemic prevention and control.

Based on specific situation in each area, the committee directed the organisation of the festival according to three different levels. For localities without infections or with well controlled pandemic conditions, the event was held as normal, while in areas with complicated COVID-19 developments, activities were held in the virtual form.

The committee assessed that overall, localities held the festival in line with the direction. On the occasion, they also conducted environment sanitation activities, planted trees, and handed over charity house for welfare policy beneficiaries. The events also saw the attendance of leaders from central and local authorities, strengthening the ties between the Party and State and the people./.
