(HBO) – Prior to realising the initiative on building a road designed for facilitating agricultural production, the management board of Nghe hamlet, Van Mai commune held a meeting to mobilize households to donate land and contribute labour.

The initiative is supported by all households in
the village. Those who don’t have land in the production area actively
contribute their workdays.
Thanks to good communication work, the implementation of the grassroots
democracy regulations has created a high consensus and unity in society in
realizing guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State, programmes,
projects, socio-economic development models in the locality.
Along with corn and peanut, from 2020, the
garlic cultivation has been expanded from 7-8 ha to 12 ha pear year and people
began planting safe vegetables. The commune has established a safe vegetable
cooperative with the participation of many households, bringing about higher
economic value and efficiency than corn and peanut.
Ngan Van Dien, Secretary of the Party Committee
of Thanh Son commune said after the merger, the commune has 11 hamlets with
4,171 people. Determining the leadership focusing on the grassroots, the
commune actively calls on cadres, party members and locals to shift the
structure of crops and livestock in line with market demand.
Ha Cong Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Mai Chau
district Party Committee, said the good dissemination campaign has resulted in
the fact that local residents abide by policies and laws, especially the
implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, thereby creating a high
consensus when implementing socio-economic programmes, projects and models, and
ensuring national security.
Many models of intensive farming to increase
productivity and change the structure of crops and livestock are applied,
contributing to increasing the average income of people in the
district.Statistics from the district have shown that the
district's per capita income reached 34.8 million VND (1,510 USD) last year.
The poverty rate dropped to 12.56 percent, and all communes in the district met
the criteria relating to employment in the new rural building programme.
Security and order are guaranteed and social evils are reduced at the same
time.
All communes and districts have well
implemented the administrative procedure reform towards one single window
mechanism, creating favourable conditions for people.
Nguyen Thi Kieu Hoa, vice chairwoman of Mai Chau
district’s Fatherland Front Committee, emphasized that members and people from
all walks of life have actively participated in the common work of the
community as well as directly discuss and decide on practical issues associated
with the interests of the people and the community, adding that people’s
opinions and recommendations have been reported to the Party committee and
local authorities, preventing the emergence of hotspots in rural security.
In recent times, Da Bac district has paid attention to implementing gender equality work for the advancement of women. The role and position of women in the family and society have been affirmed, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the locality.
