(HBO) - Yen Thuy District Confederation of Labour (CL) on December 16 held a meeting to review its trade union works in 2021 and put forward guidelines for the year 2022, with the attendance of officials from Yen Thuy Party Committee and provincial CL.

cause” to awardees.
During the year, the district CL held fast to directing,
guiding the grassroots units in coordinating trade union works with
professional specialties, making sure that the local major employers stick to
required trade union meetings and other labourers’ gatherings with concrete
efficiency in consideration of COVID-19 pandemic situations. Fifteen out of
twenty companies with trade unions actively engaged employers to sign
collective labour agreements beneficial to the employees, five companies
providing meals for shift workers. Great emphasis was paid to maintaining trade
union members’ welfare and effective social security works. District CL worked
in coordination with District Business Association to organize visits to trade
unions with 159 gift packages worth 111,3 million VND, providing 22 gift
packages to school children of disadvantaged households worth 15,4 million VND.
District CL representatives also made trips to encourage frontline cadres and
members of the armed forces participating in COVID-19 prevention and control
campaign with gifts worth 11 million VND; provided assistance worth 80 million
VND to 2 households in the "Trade union homes” program…
At
the meeting, five individuals were awared "For the trade union building cause”
commemorative medals; one unit and one individual received commendation
certificate from Vietnam General Federation of Labour. The Provincial CL also
presented Emulation Flag Award to one unit, commendation certificates to 3
units and 5 individuals. The District CL gave commendation papers to 14 units
and 14 individuals with distinguished performance in labour and trade union
works.
In late March, 29 labourers from Da Bac district were sent to work as seasonal farm workers in Buyeo county, Chungcheongnam province, the Republic of Korea (RoK). Upon arrival, they quickly settled into their jobs, enjoying good working conditions and benefits, with wages aligned with the terms of their signed contracts. The programme is now being expanded, with relevant departments and sectors actively seeking additional seasonal employment opportunities in various localities across the RoK.
Luong Son Industrial Park has invested in standardised wastewater and emissions treatment systems, enforced tight emission controls, reduced noise, dust, and solid waste, and expanded green spaces, contributing to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.
Hoa Binh police are collecting public feedback on amendments to the 2013 Constitution via the national identification app VNeID. This innovative approach marks a giant leap towards modernising grassroots democracy and enhancing transparency in public consultation.
A total public investment capital of 113 billion VND (over 4.3 million USD) was disbursed for a project to upgrade infrastructure and stabilise residents in the vicinity of the Da River reservoir between 2021 and the first quarter of 2025, giving a facelift to local rural areas and improving the quality of people's life.

The Labour Federation of Hoa Binh city has actively worked to protect the rights and welfare of nearly 8,000 local workers and union members at 152 grassroots unions. Through regular dialogues, education campaigns, and welfare programmes, the federation has helped foster stable, progressive labour relations.
