(HBO) - President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC) Central Committee Bui Thi Hoa visited and presented gifts to poor people in Hoa Binh province on January 20.

In Da Bac district, officials of the VRC Central Committee
and other sectors granted 100 gifts, each comprising 1 million VND in cash and
confectionery and necessities, for people living in disadvantageous
circumstances and Agent Orange victims, with a total value of 120 million VND.
The leader of the VRC Central Committee expressed her
sympathy with poor households facing difficulties and encouraged them to make
more efforts in production and economic development to increase their income
and improve their life. The VRC Central Committee also presented 500 water
filters to the provincial Red Cross to carry out humanitarian and social
welfare activities. The delegation also visited and presented gifts to a poor
household in Group 9, Tan Hoa ward (Hoa Binh city) whose members are suffering
from a serious illness, and lose the ability to work.
The gifts demonstrated the VRC Central Committee’s concern
for the community, thus contributing to taking care of and helping those in
need and helping them have faith to rise up in life./.
