(HBO) - The COVID-19 pandemic which took place complicatedly with many community cases seriously affected people's lives, especially the poor and disadvantaged. But many noble and humane deeds have emerged amidst hardship, reflecting affection among people during the pandemic.

As soon as COVID-19 infection cases occurred in the community, districts and cities quickly adopted measures to put the pandemic under control. Local administration, organisations, and individuals have gathered food and necessities to hand over to people in isolated areas.

Nguyen Ngoc Que, Chairman of Doc Lap commune’s People's Committee in Hoa Binh City said local residents are encouraged to join hands and provide food support for hundreds of people in isolation areas, especially informal workers who face many difficulties due to losing jobs.

The provincial Red Cross Society (CRC) transported more than 2.5 tonnes of winter melon from Doc Lap commune along with hundreds of boxes of instant noodles and rice sacks donated by kind-hearted people to nearly 200 households who were living in isolated areas in Dong Tien and Phuong Lam wards.

Members of youth and women’s unions took charge of buying food and necessities for quarantined families, helping them to lead a normal life.
 
Many units and businesses in the locality such as Anh Ky Investment and Development JSC, Gia Han restaurant, Dinh Nhuan Trading JSC also contributed tonnes of vegetables, rice, and medical equipment. Other activities including charity fairs, a programme of giving pigs and breeding cows to the needy, repairing houses or presenting gifts to the poor are also deployed by the Fatherland Front, Red Cross Associations of districts and cities, bringing out effective results.

The provincial Fatherland Front launched a campaign calling on organisations and individuals to support Ho Chi Minh City when the southern city was heavily affected by fast spreading COVID-19 outbreaks. As a result, over 80 tonnes of rice and other essential goods have been collected in a short time./.
