The centre will be responsible for receiving and treating heavy and critical COVID-19 patients that require a ventilator, hemodialysis, surgery or specialised treatment. It aims to treat serious cases and prevent the spread of the pandemic in the community.

The director of the provincial General Hospital will be the centre’s director while the head of Intensive Care Department No 1 and head nurse of the infectious disease department will be in charge of professional and nursing working. Its staff are mobilised from departments of the hospital depending on the actual conditions.

In compliance with a decision of the provincial People's Committee, the General Hospital has issued a plan on the deployment of the 100-bed COVID-19 Intensive Care Centre commissioned early this month.

Hoa Binh General Hospital is one of the 33 facilities designated by the Ministry of Health to set up an intensive care unit. The centre is under the direction of the provincial Department of Health and the MoH’s Medical Examination and Treatment Department. It is assigned to provide professional support for the intensive care units of hospitals and medical centres under its management./.
