(HBO) – The Hoa Binh provincial Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs in collaboration with the Hoa Binh city People’s Committee held a ceremony on May 24 to launch this year’s action month for children, themed ‘joining hands to protect children, raising voice to prevent and fight child abuse’. Attending the event was Nguyen Van Toan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the provincial Steering Committee for child protection.

Hoa Binh now houses 230,000 children, including 4,620 living in special difficulties. 

The action month is scheduled to run from June 1 to 30, featuring a series of activities, including communications campaigns to raise public awareness; and the implementation of solutions to prevent violence and accidents facing children. 

In his remarks, Toan recommended increasing the Party leadership in the care for, protection and education of children in the new situation; intensifying communications on children’s rights; and strengthening the local child protection system, among other works. 

At the event, the official presented gifts to participating kids on the occasion of Children’s Day (June 1). Gifts were also handed over to 45 children with extremely difficult circumstances in the province./.
