(HBO) - The Hoa Binh provincial People's Committee on June 29 organised the 2022 Children's Forum themed "joining hands to protect children - Speak up to prevent and combat child abuse and violence". Attending the event were Nguyen Van Toan, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and head of the provincial Steering Committee for Child Protection; Dang Hoa Nam, Director of the Child Protection & Care Department under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs; Nguyen Thi Bich Lien, Director of ChildFund Australia in Vietnam; and Khong Huong Lan, representative of World Vision in Vietnam, among others.

Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Toan, Director of the Child Protection & Care Department Dang Hoa Nam, and a leader of the provincial Red Cross Society present gifts to poor children with excellent learning performances. 

The forum attracted the participation of 80 children representing 220,000 in the province. At the event, groups of children presented several communication products on some topics such as child abuse, school violence, violence against children, and children with internet. They also had a chance to share their thoughts, aspirations and desires related to child issues, including education, abuse, violence against children, accidents and injuries, and entertainment activities for children. 


Children have dialogue with delegates attending the provincial Children's Forum in 2022. 

Speaking at the forum, Nguyen Van Toan, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, praised the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and other departments, agencies and organisations in the provincial Steering Committee for Child Protection, People's Committees of districts and Hoa Binh city for carrying out specific solutions to contribute to the better implementation of the child care, protection and education. He emphasised that the 2022 Children's Forum held at the commune and district levels for nearly one month has attracted the attention of the whole society to issues related to children. The forum not only is a place for children to express their legitimate wishes for a better life, but also shows the deep concern, affection and responsibility of authorities of all levels, sectors and localities for the child protection, care, education and exercise of children's rights.

 He expressed his hope that children will confidently promote their right and voice their thoughts, aspirations and issues of concern. 

On this occasion, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the provincial Study Encouragement Association presented 200 gifts totalling 100 million VND to poor children with outstanding learning performances in the 2021-2022 academic year, while the provincial Red Cross Association, My Phong Trade Construction and Investment Co., Ltd., and Dinh Nhuan Trading joint Stock Company each gave 280 gifts to children./.
