(HBO) - On October 5, the Organizing Committee of the global DO YOUR :BIT contest announced the final results with 45 prizes for the most outstanding products, which have been selected from more than 1,000 contested products. Among the 18 teams that won the Winner prize (the champion award) divided among 6 regions around the world, the student team of Hoa Binh province excellently won the Winner award in the Asia-Pacific region. This is also the first Vietnamese student team to win and the highest prize at the DO YOUR :BIT contest.

With the project "Healthcare Support System for the Elderly”, 3 students from Cong Nghiep High School and Provincial Boarding High School for the Ethnic Minorities excellently won the Regional Champion award. In the Asia-Pacific region, including Dang Hai Dang, Nguyen Duc Manh (Cong Nghiep High School), Bui Minh Nhat (the Provincial Boarding High School for the Ethnic Minorities). This is a particularly outstanding achievement of our provincial students when participating in the playgrounds of scientific research and technological innovation experience of international level. They are excellent faces, representing the students of Hoa Binh province as well as the young generation of the country participating the contest and winning the top prize. 

DO YOUR :BIT contest is organized by the Micro:Bit Education Foundation of the BBC Media Group. The competition has a global scope for students from 8 to 18 years old from all over the world, with the theme of applying technology to work towards 17 global goals initiated by UNESCO. The contest has attracted nearly 1,000 entries from thousands of young people and teenagers from many countries. In the end, the Organizing Committee has chosen to award 45 prizes, including 18 champions, divided among 6 regions and 3 contents. The project of our provincial students is highly appreciated, aiming at goal number 4: Health and happiness. 

Evaluating the product of the students of Hoa Binh province, the contest jury emphasized: "We are very impressed by the uniqueness of the idea and implementation way. It is a closely combined project and a lot of effort has been made. The idea of the project is a big deal for the people all over the world. The project is well presented, the problem is clearly defined and they solve it through a specific solution”.
