(HBO) - Vice Chairman of the Tan Lac district People's Committee Le Chi Huyen has said that creating jobs for labourers is an important solution to help improve people's lives, and realise the goals of new-style rural area building and sustainable poverty reduction in the locality.


Ho Guom Garment Company in Phong Phu commune (Tan Lac) coordinates in vocational training and job generation for over 400 local labourers.

In 2022, the district People's Committee issued a plan to implement a programme on job creation and vocational training for rural workers. The district has cooperated with communes, townships and other districts to organise eight conferences on recruitment consultancy, job introduction, and labour export; and coordinated with the Employment Service Centre to provide career orientation and vocational training for 550 12th graders at four educational institutions: Muong Bi High School, Doan Ket High School, Lung Van High School and the district Centre for Vocational Education and Continuing Education.

This year, the district is allocated 791 million VND (33,300 USD) to support vocational training for labourers. On the basis of this financial support, the centre actively opens vocation has held vocational training classes with about 350 trainees, mainly from poor and near-poor households in new-style rural communes, and underprivileged ones.

Currently, there are more than 80 enterprises operating in the district, most of which have small and medium sizes. Notably, Ho Guom Garment Company in Muong Lam hamlet, Phong Phu commune put into operation since December 2018, has created jobs for 430 local workers with an average monthly salary of 5 million VND. This year, the district is striving to reduce the poverty rate from 15.36% to 13.01%.

To create more jobs for locals to contribute to promoting sustainable poverty reduction, the district focuses on counseling and introducing jobs for locals in various forms such as organising conferences, introducing recruiters to communes and hamlets, and coordinating in holding mobile job sessions. Attention is also paid to vocational training to improve the quality of human resources, technical qualifications and skills of rural workers, and increasing the proportion of trained workers. To date, Tan Lac district has created jobs for 1,352 workers, reaching 90.12% of the yearly plan./.
