(HBO) – Around 54,300 local farmers have so far accessed loans worth nearly 2 trillion VND via trust services between the Farmers’ Association chapters at all levels and banks and more than 20 billion VND from the Fund in Support of Farmers.

Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyen Thi Cam Phuong said support activities have attracted numerous farmers and improved the role of the Farmers’ Association in the cause of industrialisation and modernisation of agriculture and rural areas.

Thanks to effective support of the Farmers’ Association at all levels, farmers in Bung village, Huong Nhuong commune, Lac Son district bought high-tech egg hatching machines to improve their chicken farming efficiency.

The provincial Farmers’ Association has so far attracted 133,208 members in 1,968 chapters and 2,611 teams.  Each year, chapters launch emulation movements among all units and member farmers, notably the movements "Farmers vie for high-yielding production and stay united for sustainable poverty reduction” and "Farmers join new rural development” which attract about 70,000 farming households each year. In order to facilitate farmers’ involvement in movements, chapters actively partnered with departments and agencies to rally resources to assist farmers in technological application, cultivation, trade and management. Nearly 54,300 farming households have accessed loans worth about 2 trillion VND via chapters’ trust services with banks and upwards 20 billion VND from the fund in support of farmers.
