(HBO) – Hoa Binh provincial People's Committee on May 18 held a conference to introduce key tasks of child protection and care, gender equality, and the advancement of women in 2023. Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the Implementation of the Child Protection Programme, and Head of the Committee for the Advancement of Women in the province, chaired the conference.

departments, agencies, and organisations sign the Regulation on Inter-sectoral
Coordination.
In 2022, the province achieved positive results in child care and protection.
Disadvantaged children are supported for comprehensive physical and mental
development.
The province paid attention to increasing awareness about the
child's right and their participation in child-related issues. It also promoted
the intervention, monitoring, and support for children who are injured,
sexually assaulted, or those who have special circumstances and are at risk of
falling into special circumstances. The number of children who died due to
injuries and accidents in the province decreased compared to 2021.
The province also cared more about the work to promote gender equality. The
percentage of women participating in leadership and management at all levels
increased significantly. The position and role of women in the family and
society are recognised. The province attached importance to job creation for
female workers, especially those in rural areas. The number of female workers
with new jobs and stable incomes is increasing regularly. There are more
policies to develop and support small- and medium-sized enterprises, which
create favourable conditions and opportunities for women to start and own
businesses in the province.
At the conference, participants discussed and made recommendations to promote
child care and protection, gender equality, and activities of the Committee for
the Advancement of Women. At the same time, leaders of relevant departments,
agencies, and organisations signed the Inter-sectoral Coordination Plan for
Child Drowning Prevention and Control for the 2023 - 2030 period and the
Regulation on inter-sectoral coordination between the Departments of Labour,
Invalids and Social Affairs, Health, Education and Training, Culture, Sports,
and Tourism on children care and protection.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee
Nguyen Van Toan asked agencies, departments, branches, organisations, and
localities to review and complete the plan with a focus on improving
infrastructure and facilities for child care and protection.
The province will maintain and replicate practical and effective models as well
as pay more attention to swimming classes for children, reducing drowning and
organising safe and helpful summer activities for them.
Toan
requested authorities of all levels and sectors to facilitate job creation for
women in rural, remote, and isolated areas. Communication campaigns will be
carried out to improve gender quality, especially in rural, remote, and
isolated areas./.
The women's unions at all levels in Kim Boi district have been making significant contributions to the movement of building cultural life in the local community.
The movement helps improve rural look and the spiritual and material lives of local residents.
The Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee has issued an action plan to ensure food safety, promote processing, and develop the market for agricultural, forestry, and fishery products in 2025.
In recent years, the development of rural handicrafts has not only helped preserve and promote the traditional values but it has also created jobs and improved incomes for the local residents.
