(HBO) - In order to well perform the work of children protection, care and education, all the levels, branches and the localities in the province have always paid attention to well implementing the provisions of the law, making efforts to ensure the implementation of children's rights according to regulations, including the children's right participating in the related issues over the past years.

The leaders from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism were answering the children's opinions and recommendations at the meeting and dialogue between the provincial leaders and the children.

On May 27, the Provincial People's Committee organized a meeting and dialogue between the provincial leaders and the children on the issues related to children. At the program, 50 typical children representing more than 231,500 children across the province boldly and confidently expressed their opinions, shared their thoughts and aspirations and asked a number of questions around their concerns. Nguyen My Quyen, a student of grade 7A3 from Song Da Secondary School (Hoa Binh City) says: The program allows us to express our thoughts, aspirations to the provincial leaders. On behalf of the students in Hoa Binh city, I asked a question about an issue that many students are concerned about, which is the electronic cigarette. Recently, the Public Security of Hoa Binh City has arrested those who have illegally stored a large amount of drug-containing solutions used for e-cigarettes. The use of e-cigarettes is exposing young people to the consequences of dangerous health. Currently, in some schools there are students who are lured into using e-cigarettes. Although they have been discovered, reminded and deterred by the teachers and parents, this situation still occurs. In the coming time, we hope that the leaders will take more drastic measures to prevent and repel the problem of e-cigarettes from the school environment.

The meeting and dialogue program between the provincial leaders and children is an opportunity for the children to continue promoting their participating right, contributing to improving the responsibilities and actions of all levels and sectors on the issues related to children. Revolving around the issues of protecting children in cyberspace, sexual abuse of children, school violence, accidents, injuries, drowning accidents, the entertainment activities, the talent development, learning foreign languages, the reality of students breaking the law ... all the questions the students asked at the program were listened to, received, answered by the leaders from the departments, and appropriate authorities. At the same time, the specific solutions have been provided to help children better understand the protection, care and education of children, creating the best environment for the children to learn and grow up. Thereby, it helps contributing to raising the children's awareness of their own roles and responsibilities in cultivating virtue and talents to become good children, good students, good grandchildren of Uncle Ho, the future owners of the country.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh Ngoc, the Deputy Director of the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs says: The Action Month for Children in 2023 with many practical activities: The Launching Ceremony of the Action Month for Children at all levels; the campaign to support the Provincial Children's Protection Fund in 2023; opening and carrying out the summer activities in the localities, focusing on prevention of injuries and drowning accidents, teaching swimming, teaching life skills to children, etc. That helps build a safe, healthy and friendly living environment to fully carry out the children’s rights, ensuring that all children are fully developed; raising the awareness and sense of responsibility of the competent agencies, organizations and individuals in dealing with the child-related issues; preventing and reducing the risks of children’s abuse, accidents, injuries... This year, at the provincial level, there is an innovation in organizing a program of meetings and dialogues between the provincial leaders and the children on the issues related to children. They not only thoroughly answer the childrens's opinions and recommendations, in the coming time, children will be facilitated and encouraged to continue promoting their participating right, sending opinions and suggestions on the related issues in many different forms. At the same time, the appropriate authorities and mass organizations continue to have the appropriate solutions to solve the problems related to children, especially the issues that children care about.
