(HBO) - More than 20 years ago, not long after the establishment of Cao Phong district, the Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities in Cao Phong district (now it is Cao Phong Boarding High & Secondary School fro ethnic minorities) was established. In the first school year of 2003 - 2004, the school recruited a grade 6 and a grade 7 with a total of 60 students. However, there was class at the school, they had to study Bac Phong Secondary School. The teacher Pham Hung - the first principal of the school clearly remembers every difficulty that both of the teachers and students have overcome together, and then creating the first bricks for the education of the district.



At the Provincial High School for Ethnic Minorities, the students have a favorable environment, so they have a high sense of trying to study and practice.

The teacher Pham Hung says: "Cao Phong High & Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities is quite young compared to the birth and development of Hoa Binh education, however, it is enough for different generations of teachers and staff working at school to be proud of the good tradition as well as the first impressions on the path of seeding and incubating Along with the quality of education, the important achievement that the school has achieved is to do well in the education of the ethnic minorities. The school has always been focusing on creating the habit of independence for the students, closely linking the literacy teaching with forging people, and they often organize the internal and external activities, experiences, study tours, and setting up clubs, playground ... to create the attractiveness for the students, helping them preserve and promote the national cultural identity, practice skills, develop quality and comprehensive capacity”. Every year, Cao Phong High & Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities always fulfills its tasks well, in whcihj they have been recognized as an excellent labor collective for 5 times, rising to the top of the province's high schools for ethnic minorities with comprehensive educational quality and gradually improving the quality of educational strength.

like Cao Phong Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities, the High Schools for Ethnic Minorities in the province have made efforts to make a mark on the journey of "sowing words” for the students in the areas of ethnic minorities. Over the past 40 years, there have been many teachers from the lowlands to the opposite regions with the baggage of knowledge and a heart full of enthusiasm and dedication. They have "plugged the village” to teach literacy, making education from difficulties to step by step creating valuable foundation for the development of Hoa Binh's education. In the general picture, there is a special imprint of the ethnic education with the important role of the system of boarding and semi-boarding schools for ethnic minorities.

Up to now,in  the province there have been 13 boarding schools for ethnicminorities with over 3,800 students who are the ethnic people (equivalent to 6.4 % of ethnic minority students studying in boarding schools for ethnic minorities). The activities of these schools have been paid attention to by the Party committees and the appropriate authorities at all levels, focusing on expanding the scale, upgrading the facilities, and the top priority is to improve the quality of education, towards the good implementation of the public fundamental and comprehensive renovation of education and training in the spirit of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW of the Central Committee of the Party.

In recent years, the boarding schools for etnic minorities in the province have fully implemented the specific regimes and policies for the students and teachers; well performing the task of taking care of students' lives; focusing on propagating and disseminating the legal education and life skills; strengthening extracurricular activities, cultural & arts ones, physical training and sports, experience..., whoch is suitable to the age group's psychophysiology and national cultural characteristics. As a result, the quality of comprehensive education is gradually improved.

In response to the new situation, the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee issued Directive No. 09-CT/TU, dated May 21, 2021 on improving the quality of education in high schools for ethnic minorities in order to high-quality human resources of the ethnic minorities of high quality in the province in the period of 2021 - 2025. Accordingly, the schools continue to comprehensively renew education in the spirit of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 52/NQ-CP on promoting the human resources of ethnic minorities in the period of 2016 - 2020, with a vision to 2030. In an effort to synchronously deploy the solutions to improve the role and position of boarding schools for ethnic minborities in educating and creating high-quality human resources, the province has determined the important role of the teachers and administrators, considering this to be a direct force to implement the tasks and undertaking innovation, deciding the quality of education in the schools.

Along with that, the province will aim to standardize the network of boarding schools for ethnic minorities in the province, ensuring that the area is suitable for the development scale of each school, trying to increase the proportion of ethnic minority students of 10% in ethnic minority high schools by 2030. Thereby, it ghelps creating more imprints in the ethnic education, effectively contributing to the province's abundant high-quality human resources who are the ethnic minorities.
