Five-year-old children at Cuu Long Kindergarten, Luong Son town (Luong Son) during English class with foreign teachers.

We had the opportunity to attend the English lessons of the teachers and 5-year-old learners at Cuu Long Kindergarten. In the airy classroom space, under the teaching of a foreign teacher and a Vietnamese teacher, the children excitedly interacted with the teacher in English. Hoang Duc Phuc in 5-year-old class A1 chats: During the class, the teachers teach us new words about animals and objects, and play the fun games in English. I really like English class.

The female teacher Chu Le Van, the school's English teacher, says: the children of preschool age participate in the activities to familiarize themselves with English in an enjoyable and gentle way, contributing to the development of awareness and communication skills. After a period of implementation, the model "Letting the kindergarten children be familiar with the English language” has been effective, receiving the approval of the parents and the excitement of the school students.

The teacher, Nguyen Thi Bich Hanh, the Principal of Cuu Long Kindergarten, acknowledges: The activities to familiarize children with the English language are approached in an integrated way, developing preschool education programs, ensuring continuity between educational levels, meeting the new general education program. Recognizing that importance, the school implements the model "Letting the kindergarten children be familiar with the English language” from the school year of 2022 - 2023. After 1 school year, it can be seen that the children are very excited and they can say simple words, they can pronounce correctly, and the children are more confident. They communicate more coherently and they are more sensitively in the language development. In addition, implementing English teaching at school also helps the teachers have the opportunity to learn and improve their foreign language skills.

To build the model, the school has asked for the opinions and they have received high approval and response from the parents. From the socialization sources and the funds voluntarily contributed by parents, the school has contracted with the qualified English teachers and coordinated with the foreign teachers to participate in classes with the children. Thanks to that, the quality of the English lessons is always guaranteed. According to the evaluation of the school and parents, the activities to familiarize children with the English language are being carried out well, with the investment in facilities, content, methods and teachers.

Through the actual appraisal of the working group of the Provincial Emulation and Commendation Committee and the relevant departments and branches, although the model has not yet calculated the economic value, it brings high social value, contributing to helping the kindergarten children familiar with the English language, which is a good premise for learning and meeting the current integration requirements. The model "Letting the kindergarten children be familiar with the English language” of Cuu Long Kindergarten has been decided to recognize by the Provincial People's Committee as a typical advanced model at the provincial level in 2023, which is capable of creating a spillover effect and impact and using as an example with the level of influence and scope of replication throughout the province. With its achievements, in the 2022 - 2023 school year, Cuu Long Kindergarten was classified by the Department of Education and Training of Luong Son district as having excellently completed its tasks.
