On November 27th, at the Provincial Cultural Palace, the Provincial Steering Committee for Population and Development coordinated with the Department of Population - Ministry of Health to organize the Launching Campaign to increase the access to family planning services in the areas of the ethnic minorities and the mountainous ones with high birth rates. There was the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Population and Development; the representatives of the Department of Population and a number of departments and branches of the province.

According to Decision
No. 2029, dated on April 27, 2021, the Ministry of Health announced 33
provinces and cities with high birth rates, the difficult economic conditions,
and the limited quality of human resources. Hoa Binh is one of the 33 provinces
and cities on the list. The entire province has a population of nearly 900
thousand people, of which Muong ethnic group accounts for over 63%; There are
87 communes in region II and region III. The province has been actively
implementing the provision of family planning services on all 3 channels: free,
social marketing and socialization.
Making a speech at the
launching ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee
called on all officials, civil servants, public employees and people in the
province to continue deeply grasping the implementation of birth reduction,
trying to achieve and maintain replacement rate. It is suggested to
universalize family planning services and reproductive health care to all
people, ensuring fairness and equality in access. The localities focus on
introducing and widely promoting the benefits of using contraceptives. It is
necesary to strengthen inspection and supervision, appoint the professional
staff to provide on-site support to lower levels when required. They have been
mobilizing, providing information, and creating the favorable conditions so
that the mass media agencies, especially the propaganda agencies at the
district’s and commune’s levels to have news and articles about the "Campaign
increasing access to family planning services".
Immediately after the
ceremony of issuing the order and handing over the military flag, the cheering
group marched on the streets of Hoa Binh City to propagate and promote the
Campaign increasing access to family planning services.
In parallel with the
campaign launching ceremony, at Medical Station of Doc Lap Commune (Hoa Binh
City), the population officers provided family planning services and
reproductive health care for the people in need.
