In addition, in order to improve the
effectiveness of implementing programs and policies for the ethnic minorities,
during the year, the the Farmers' Unions of the districts and the city
coordinated to organize 8 propaganda conferences on the National Target Program
for socio - economic development of the areas of ethnic minorities and the
mountainous ones; propagating and promoting the agricultural production and
business chain for over 80 farmer members in Tan Lac, Yen Thuy distrcits and
Hoa Binh city; 1 class for 94 farmer members who are leaders of the cooperative
groups, branches, the association groups of the Farmers’ Union, and the leaders
of professional farmers' unions in Luong Son district.
In addition, the Unions at all levels have
actively mobilized the officials and the farmer members to organize production
and business to limit risks from market fluctuations; plant care, disease
prevention for livestock and poultry; Supporting and helping the poor members
in difficult circumstances, building farmers' shelters. During the year, the
whole province handed over 18 farmer's shelters with a total cost of 426
million VND to the disadvantaged households of the ethnic minorities, bringing
the current total number of houses to 185.
