Hoa Binh province will respond to the 2024 ‘Ao dai’ (Vietnam’s traditional gown) Week to be held nationwide from March 1-8, according to a dispatch of the standing board of the provincial Women’s Union.

Accordingly, the response plan focuses on
promoting dissemination and encouraging union members and women to wear ‘ao
dai’ to affirm and honour the value of the Vietnamese traditional costume in
social life, thus creating a spillover effect in the community, and inspiring
pride and responsibility to preserve and promote Vietnamese cultural heritage.
In addition, a wide range of activities
will be organised such as ‘ao dai’ shows, meetings with designers and tailors,
contests, and workshops, together with presenting ‘ao dai’ to poor women.
The provincial Women's Union also directed
its chapters to coordinate with the trade union and the education and training
sector to encourage officials, civil servants, labourers and students to wear
‘ao dai’ at work, school and event.
