Born in Giao Thuy district of Nam Dinh province, Nu was a worker at the Da Bac construction company from 1979 to 1982 when the firm was dissolved. She has worked hard to take care of her sick husband and four children.

Despite her difficulties, she has conducted many charity activities since January 2017, including providing free meals to patients at the district healthcare station. Rain or shine, every Thursday, she cooks porridge to serve 60 - 70 patients. Besides porridge portions, she has added rice and cake to the menu.

In 2021, she started to sponsor a poor student in Enh village of Tan Minh commune in Da Bac.

"I myself come from a poor family and have a tough life, so I understand the situation of poor people, especially vulnerable families with members receiving treatment at the district health station, so to my ability, if I can help someone, I'm willing to do it,” stated Nu.

She said that she cannot remember how many people and families that she has helped or how much she has spent on the charity activities over the past nearly 10 years. Nu has actively engaged in movements launched by the local administration, saying this is a way for her and other people like her to find a better version of themselves.

Bui Thanh Phan, Secretary of the Party Cell of Thach Ly sub-area, said that charities activities that Nu has conducted are worthy of respect with a strong spillover effect in the community.

Nu's beautiful actions have contributed to promoting the spirit of "mutual support and solidarity" in the community. With meaningful contributions, Nu was awarded the title "Good people, good deeds" in 2023 by the People's Committee of Da Bac township.
