The Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province hosted a seminar on June 13 to evaluate activities supported by ChildFund in Vietnam and review the innovation of preschool and primary education in the locality in 2023-2024.
Participants at the seminar.
The event was attended by representatives of the
Department of Education and Training, the department’s preschool and primary
education division, the education and training offices of Hoa Binh city and
districts; and managers and teachers in preschools, primary schools, and
higher-secondary schools which are applying innovative models in the 2023-2024
academic year.
During the academic year, schools in the
province received technical assistance for activities such as supporting
children during the preschool-to-primary transition, and promoting language
development through play-based learning.
As a result, 100% of educational institutions
applied play-based learning linked to language development for children. Most
schools managed pupils’ records through digital platforms. Attention has also
been paid to implementing relevant policies.
Participants focused their discussions on
difficulties and challenges in implementing education tasks and policies for
teachers who specialise in teaching children how to integrate; as well as
measures to address the uneven level of teacher qualifications.
They suggested ChildFund in Vietnam make
appropriate adjustments and better coordinate in implementing educational
activities in the province in the 2024-2025 academic year.
