On August 2nd, the opening ceremony of the 18th Hung Vuong Summer Camp for the gifted high schools in the Northern midlands and mountainous areas took place in Hòa Bình City. The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, the Vice Chairman of the Hoa Binh Provincial People's Committee.

participating in the Hung Vuong Summer Camp.
The 18th Hung Vuong Summer Camp, held in Hoa Binh
province, saw the participation of 24 gifted high schools with a total of 1,166
students from the Northern midlands and mountainous areas. Among them, there
were 19 gifted high schools, Viet Bac Highland School, and five observer
schools.
The camp taking place over three days (August 2nd-4th)
includes various activities such as competitions for the excellent students in
11 subjects (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature,
History, Geography, English, French, Chinese), seminars on the management and
implementation of the regulations for the gifted high schools, the experiential
activities, and team-building for students.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, the Vice
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Hung Vuong
Summer Camp is an exchange activity among the schools aimed at creating a
unique playground to nurture and develop talents in various subjects, providing
practical experiences, and connecting different localities. This contributes to
enhancing the overall quality of education and the training of excellent
students at the national, regional, and international levels. He expressed his
hope that during the days of the summer camp in Hoa Binh, the teachers, and the
students would have wonderful experiences and develop a positive impression of
Hoa Binh's land and people.
Over its 17 previous editions, Hung Vuong
Summer Camp has achieved significant results in improving the quality of education
and training, fostering the understanding, the solidarity, cooperation, and
learning among schools. With the continuous efforts in building and innovating,
the Hung Vung Summer Camp has truly become a large-scale, effective playground
and an important milestone for the cooperation and mutual development towards
the common goals of the gifted high school system in the region.
Hoa Binh city completed its mission of rural area development in December last year, with all of its seven communes meeting the new-style rural area standards, including four communes achieving advanced certification.

Dang Long village of the Dao ethnic people in Hung Son commune of Kim Boi district has seen remarkable changes. Solid concrete roads now connect the area, flanked by lush pomelo orchards. The lives of the Dao people have significantly improved.
Following the 2024 Land Law coming into effect, Hoa Binh province has made significant progress in enforcing the law in day-to-day practices.
