Paragliding performances were launched for the first time in Y Ty commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province, on August 19, opening the series of activities in the Bat Xat Autumn Festival 2018.

The paragliding event attracted 30 athletes who love the sport from the Hanoi Paragliding Club and many provinces and cities throughout the country. The athletes parachuted from the top of Den Thang Mountain, flying through the Muong Hum and Sang Ma Sao valleys.

 From a height of one kilometre, visitors can admire the panoramic view of the Muong Hum, Pieng Lao, Den Thang, and Sang Ma Sao rice fields of Giay, Mong, Dao ethnic groups, the Dien Sang primitive forest, Muong Hum hydropower station, and the Bach Mai Luong Tu peak of the Ki Quan mountain range 3,046 metres high.

As one of the activities to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the 1945 August Revolution (August 19), the festival also aims to promote the potential and development of new tourism products in the Bat Xat border district, which has become a famous destination among travellers. It is well-known for both its natural and human beauty.

The Bat Xat Autumn Festival 2018 take place from August 19 to September 1, offering visitors a chance to experience and understand more of the local people’s life and culture.
