report, the Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer compares the costs of eight
tourist staple items – a meal for two, a cup of coffee, a bottle of beer, a
Coca-Cola, a glass of wine, a bottle of water, sun cream, and insect
repellent – across 42 resorts and cities around the world.
Accordingly,
Hoi An costs tourists only US$86.87 for a holiday, including US$2.35 for a
cup of filter coffee, US$3.3 for a bottle of local beer, US$2.35 for a bottle
or can of Coca-Cola/Pepsi, and US$6.6 for a glass of wine (175ml) at a café
or bar.
In this
Vietnamese destination, visitors only have to spend US$0.71 on a 1.5l bottle
of mineral water, US$5.65 on sun cream, and US$2.35 on insect repellent at a
supermarket.
A
three-course evening meal for two, including a bottle of house wine, costs
them just US$63.56 here.
The three
cheapest destinations in the list are Sunny Beach of Bulgaria (US$45.01),
Marmaris of Turkey (US$56.52), and Algarve of Portugal (US$62.61).
