Linh, the vice Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: The
provincial tourism resources can say about the natural resources and human
resources with special values. There are 4 natural reservation areas with the
system of spectacular caves and biodiversity creating beautiful natural
landscapes, many archaeological relics and revolutionary history; a
multi-ethnic community, each ethnic group with a unique cultural identity about
lifestyle, activities, customs and costumes. Besides, Muong gong, Muong mo has
been recognized as the national intangible cultural heritage which will be the
advantage to exploit and develop tourism. The province has built the plans of
tourism development in the period of 2014-2020, with the vision to 2030. This
is an essential fundament to develop oriented tourism effectively and
sustainably.
With a lot of goodwill from natural beauty, there are many beautiful caves in the province which also has valuable archaeological and aesthetic features such as vestige monuments and scenic spots of Tien pagoda, vestige monuments and scenic spots of Dragon Mountain, Bo Waterfall cave, Dong Thech ancient tombs. At the same time, there are many historical relics, cultural relics with nearly 70 relics ranked at national and provincial level, many traditional folk festivals are being kept and conserved. These become the important resources for developing tourism. The main tourism products that the province is exploiting are ecotourism and resorts associated with community tourism to explore the natural beauty and cultural identity of ethnic groups. In recent years, the development of high-quality resort tourism has been focused on; some spots are invested to set up the operations which are initially highly effective, such as Mai Chau Ecologe (Mai Chau), Serena resort (Kim Boi)…
For many years, spiritual tourism has become one of the provincial strengths with many tourist attractions like Tien Pagoda (Lac Thuy), Bo Temple (Cao Phong – Da Bac) which attract thousands of visitors every year. The natural conservation areas of Phu Canh (Da Bac), Ngoc Son- Ngo Luong (Tan Lac- Lac Son), Thuong Tien (Kim Boi), Pa Co – Hang Kia (Mai Chau) have been explored the advantages to build pretty roads and routes through the reservation areas so that trekking tourism can be developed, and adventurous tourism of parachuting and mountain climbing has been opened.

Hoa Binh Lake
Area with 47 small and large islands and charming and mountains has been
planned to be National Tourism Area of Hoa Binh Lake, which is focused on
exploiting the lake surface, landscapes, ecosystems and coastal residents’
lifestyle to sustainably develop towards green and clean direction, reserve and
promote the national cultural values, make the differences to attract local and
international tourists. In addition, community tourism – a tourism model
starting firstly in the province has been invested for development, mainly in
Mai Chau, Da Bac districts with 150 households of implementation. This tourism
model has an important meaning to preserve and develop the national cultural
values of ethnic minority people of Muong, Thai, Dao and Mong.
