Hoa Binh province is pursuing a modern urban area model that can still preserve the local cultural identity, said Director of the provincial Construction Department Nguyen Tuan Anh.
Hoa Binh is rich in ethnic cultural values and also endowed with
beautiful natural scenery. Included in the master plan of the Hanoi Capital
region, the province with a favourable geographical location and a
long-standing historical background, is gradually undergoing strong
transformation in the process of urbanisation and socio-economic development.
However, rapid development also poses significant challenges
regarding urban planning, cultural heritage conservation, and environmental
protection, Anh said, emphasising that to ensure sustainable development, the
province eyes an urban model that is modern and able to preserve the local
identity.
Hoa Binh city’s
downtown is oriented towards sustainable development linked to promoting
cultural identities of ethnic groups.
In recent years, Hoa Binh province has achieved notable successes in developing
urban infrastructure, transportation, and services. New urban areas,
eco-tourism zones, and industrial parks have gradually taken shape, helping
boost economic growth, improve the quality of life for residents, and attract
tourists.
However, several issues remain, for examples, urbanisation is
not yet comprehensive; some projects are not truly integrated with the overall
master plan; modern architecture sometimes overshadows the local traditional
identity; green spaces, parks, and eco-zones are still limited and do not
adequately meet the needs of urban residents.
Under the direction of the provincial Party Committee and the provincial
People's Committee, the Construction Department has consistently focused on
guiding local authorities, investors, and architects in the design and
construction investment process to work out solutions for sustainable urban
development linked to the local culture.
The provincial Architects' Association was asked to consider and address
several issues, including preserving and promoting traditional architectural
values; developing green and environmentally friendly urban areas; promoting
urban tourism connected with the local cultural identity; and applying
technology and building smart cities.
Sustainable urban development linked to the cultural identity not only helps
Hoa Binh uphold its traditional values but also creates a driving force for
economic growth, tourism, and living standard improvement.
To achieve this goal, close cooperation among government
agencies, businesses, architects, and the community is needed. It is believed
that in the coming time, with these open orientations, the Architects’
Association of Hoa Binh provincewill stay proactive in design practices
as well as in advice provision, helping Hoa Binh become an urban area with
harmonious combination of modernity and tradition.
Recognising digital transformation as an inevitable trend, authorities and agencies in Hoa Binh have made great efforts in the work by focusing on three core pillars - digital government, digital society, and digital economy, resulting in enhanced competitiveness, improved investment climate, and ensured economic and social welfare.
In recent years, Da Bac district has improved administrative reform with a one-stop shop mechanism, streamlined inter-agency procedures, and a shift to digital platforms. These efforts have enhanced public service efficiency and contributed to local socio-economic development.
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Committee and the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) chapter in Hoa Binh province launched the Youth Month 2025 at a ceremony held in Phu Thanh commune, Lac Thuy district, on March 2.
Hoa Binh City is mobilising resources to invest in transport infrastructure, enhance urban landscapes, and develop green spaces and environmental planning, aiming to build a modern, civilised city with a distinct identity. Efforts are being made to improve urban planning and management.
The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh Women's Union issued Document No. 1990 on February 6, 2025, outlining activities for "Ao Dai Week" 2025, an annual initiative launched by the Presidium of the Vietnam Women's Union.
"Emulation is patriotic, those that are patriotic must emulate. And those who emulate are the most patriotic ones,” President Ho Chi Minh once said. This guiding principle has long served as a driving force for widespread emulation movements, fostering socio-economic development across Hoa Binh province.
